Agricultural value chains

The agricultural value chain is the path of product production with all the necessary inputs. From the means of production via financing, marketing and trade to the consumer, a product goes a long way with often very many stations and influences. With the help of a holistic view of the value chain and all its influencing factors, dependencies and the efficiency of product production can be better understood. This holistic view is also necessary for the traceability of products (origin of products of animal origin) or to determine, for example, the CO2 content or water consumption in the production of certain goods. Currently, the requirements of the Supply Chain Act and corresponding EU directives also play a major role.

Our services cover all aspects of the agricultural value chain, e.g.:

Production

We advise on the use of appropriate production inputs, machinery and digital solutions to increase efficiency and sustainability. Soil health and protection play a central role. In addition, we offer appropriate training and education, are involved in the establishment of special training centers worldwide, and provide individual advice to farms. We also offer similar services on issues relating to the storage and transportation of raw agricultural products.

Financing

Our services include both the promotion and management of agricultural production and processing. On the one hand, we support farmers in identifying individual financing options. On the other, we advise policy makers on agricultural financing mechanisms.

Local marketing

Local marketing shortens the value chain and keeps it entirely within one country or region. This usually increases margins for producers while offering consumers favorable prices. We advise on marketing strategies that increase local sales.

Regulation

We provide support in adapting to the requirements of international trade and from state to EU regulation. Guidelines on sustainability and quality must be adhered to and appropriate certification bodies established. Consultation largely takes place at the political-organizational level. Effective instruments are e.g. trainings, technical dialogue between experts of the producing and the importing country or the establishment of helpdesks to advise producers and exporters. B2B events for establishing international trade contacts and the support of trade fair appearances round off our range of services.
