The aim of the project is to promote the further development of agroecological and climate-resilient production systems in Uruguay and Germany. To this end, an expert dialogue will be initiated between political and scientific actors. The expert dialogue will discuss innovative, resource-saving and climate-friendly measures in the agricultural sector and develop concrete recommendations for action.

To this end, scientific cooperation between the German Julius Kühn Institute (JKI) and the Uruguayan National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA) is being promoted. In addition, a bilateral political and technical dialogue is being established between the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and the Uruguayan Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP). The aim is to develop innovative processes and framework conditions to increase the sustainability of production systems.

In addition, the regional networking and dissemination of the results of the expert dialogue in Latin America is to be promoted. To this end, networking with other partner projects of the BMEL's Bilateral Cooperation Programme (BKP) in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia as well as with supra-regional agricultural research networks is being sought. The results of the project will be made accessible to a supra-regional target group through targeted communication and public relations work.

IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH is the lead partner in the consortium with GOPA AFC GmbH.
