Long-term expert 2: Agricultural counselling, animal production, deputy project leader (m/f/d)

We are an independent, agriculturally orientated consulting company. We have been working for public and private clients in Germany and abroad since 1981. In the field of international development cooperation, we have specialised in the promotion of sustainable agriculture and food security. We plan, implement and evaluate projects in various countries in Africa, Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America on behalf of public and private clients.

To strengthen our team, we are now looking for a national long-term expert (LZF) in the field of milk production counselling/dairy production/animal production for the project “Increasing operational expertise for the sustainable development of milk production in Kazakhstan (competence promotion milk), phase 2”, starting immediately.

Your profile:

Minimum requirements/exclusion criteria:

• Completed university degree (at least diploma/master's degree)
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the agricultural sector
• Good knowledge of German 

Other (beneficial) qualifications/experience that will be considered positively as part of the assessment:

• Completed technical/university studies in the field of animal production, veterinary science, agricultural science or similar
• Several years (3 years or more) of project experience
• Knowledge of animal husbandry/dairy production
• Knowledge of business management
• Country-specific knowledge of Kazakhstan or Central Asia
• Professional network in Kazakhstan
• Fluent Kazakh and good Russian language skills
• Experience in business consulting (methodological consulting expertise)
• Experience in advising on business planning, investment projects, etc.
• Experience in the further training of specialists and managers
• Gender competence
• Experience in dealing with digital media and social networks

Your tasks:

• Supporting the project management in the coordination of project activities
• Planning and organising training events and seminars with national and international experts at AFZ-Bayserke Agro and other locations
• Supporting the implementation of farm advisory services
• Supporting the planning and implementation of inter-farm advisory approaches (small producers)
• Specialised advisory services (feeding)
• Training and further training of specialists and managers (operational and financial advice)
• Participation in important events
• Documentation of the effects of counselling
